all these models are based on a simple fold on a 4"x1" layout.

a unit is formed (which is one individual petal).
the petal itself is allowed movement in various ways, but once attached to two other petals, creates a module.

the module is limited in movement from the facet of the petal that attaches to the others.
as the model becomes larger, what began as a flat piece of paper begins to create a curve. this is seen in greater intensity as more and more elements are added.

each module attaches to two others to create the cluster, or flower, as a six pointed star becomes the center with petals arranging themselves around it.
